Charlie Xia was born in Beijing, but was raised in Germany and the United States. Upon completing his university studies, he returned to China and took up photography professionally, specialising in food and architecture. Although based in Shanghai, he travels frequently within China for commercial shoots with major magazines. Charlie’s work has appeared in Wallpaper, Interior Design, The Observer and The San Francisco Chronicle, and has been showcased in exhibitions in Shanghai and Berlin.
