Because of our diverse immigration, the demand for authentic fresh ingredients from many cuisines has meant modern Australian chefs have a large palette of ingredients to work with.

Today’s Australian cuisine is the result of exposure to a great variety of cultures, which have had a profound influence on the way we eat. I grew up being exposed to Italian, French, Chinese, Thai, British, Indian and Japanese cuisines. It was not unusual for my parents to take us to restaurants that served these traditional cuisines.
