Freshly mowed grass, blueberries, distant thunder, cherries, slowly melting ice cream cones, no socks, watermelon, sticky humidity, plums, twilight, peaches, sunburned shoulders, shortcakes, fireworks, barbeques. These are the hallmarks of summer.
Summer, more than any other season, is not just a time of year—it is a state of mind. It is about feeling carefree, living in the moment, and spending as much time as possible outdoors. Even when it rains, we open the windows wide. We sit on the porch and watch the rain fall as though it were a mesmerizing movie.
