I had been entrusted with a mission: discover Michou’s recipe for kouign-amann… So there I was, plunged into the mystical and mysterious universe of the Breton people. The fear and dread of a chance meeting with a few korrigans or farfadets (folkloric creatures) just escaped from the cliffs of Ushant Island made itself increasingly felt. How can one tame a land animated by a steep coastline with sheer drops and high cliffs, and whipped by waves?

How can one tame a land covered with stones standing or supine, pointed or rounded, crossed by dense forests where the breath of a lurking Poulpiquet (an especially ugly korrigan) freezes your blood as never before… I had to resist all of these forces to accomplish my mission; I had to put out of my mind the irresistible call of a few malevolent sirens.
