Eggs are perfect food parcels. They contain protein, fat and vitamins – just what is needed to nourish a baby chick, or a human. The yolk contains all the fats, fatty acids, vitamins, minerals and most of the protein. The white consists of 90% water and 10% protein, with only traces of the nutritious elements in the yolk. Although the yolks contain a small amount of cholesterol, it is not like saturated fat that can raise cholesterol levels, so you can eat eggs as a guilt-free part of your balanced diet.
