You can make your own tea bags, ensuring that you have just the tea you want, or you can decorate tea bags you already have. Here are a few ideas:
  • Buy empty tea bags and fill your own. These biodegradable empty tea bags are readily available online (see stockists). You can buy cup-sized or pot-sized bags. Some just flap over and others come with a string to tighten.

  • It’s easy to tailor your own tea or herbal blend. Mix dried rose petals, dried citrus peels, unsweetened cocoa powder, olive leaves (either fresh or dried), dried camomile petals and different types of tea.

  • Decorate the tags or add your own. You can replace the tag on a tea bag by adding some decorative washi tape (a Japanese masking tape, available online, that comes in beautiful patterns and colours and which you can write on) or completely replace the tag. Make them from cardboard and name your blend, or write slogans such as ‘dump that guy’, ‘propertea is theft’, ‘down with tea tax’, other suitable snippets of advice, or simply ‘enjoy tea’.
