One of the most life-changing lessons I learned early on in my gardening journey is that growing food cannot and must not be limited to those with big backyards or acres of land. There are millions of people living in apartments, condos, and townhouses in urban centers who deserve to discover the joys of edible gardening and homegrown produce just as much as their suburban and rural counterparts. Helping people grow abundantly in small spaces has been my passion ever since.
For years, I grew food exclusively on balconies and terraces. Granted, my yields were pitiful compared to those of people with access to land. However, that was not the point. In my opinion, it is still better to grow some of your own food than none at all. When I stopped focusing on quantity, my eyes opened to all the possibilities that small space gardening can bring.
