The entrance of summertime and its fruits and berries is long anticipated at Stars. After working all winter using citrus, persimmons, nuts, and chocolate, I am excited to have the fresh tastes and vibrant colors of summer fruits.
Bing cherries, so juicy and dark in color that they stain your fingers as you pit them; succulent peaches with blushed pink skins; baskets of fragrant and plump ollalieberries and raspberries; lusciously red and sugar-ripe strawberries; deep purple skinned plums with red-pink interiors; these fruits are all signs that summer has arrived.
