The equipment and facilities in a rented kitchen are unlikely to be top-notch, but it is amazing what you can do with limited resources. In terms of facilities, the very least you need are a couple of electric or gas rings that work and a functional fridge. If you also have a grill and an oven, then you can tackle most things, no problem. Ovens can be temperamental, so accept the fact that it may take a little while to get used to the quirks of yours, and that your results may be less than perfect in the mean time. If your kitchen is of the shoe-box variety, then tidiness and good organisation while you work are of even more importance than in a generously proportioned room.
