  • About
There is only one Bathers Pavilion. It is a large white landmark within a green park at Balmoral Beach in Sydney. The building dates from 1928, when it was built as a changing shed for beachgoers in their cotton neck-to-knees. It is now over seven years – October 1988 – since the Bathers began a new life as a busy modern restaurant. More recently, in late 1993, we added a cafe, the Refreshment Room. The building’s survival was in jeopardy until 1993, but is now assured through a Permanent Conservation Order placed on it by the Heritage Council of New South Wales.
