Every few years, I return to Gujarat to spend the summer with my family. While there, I make it my mission to learn more recipes from all the women in my family. My family are keen to see more of India, so we began to split half the time with the extended family in Gujarat, and the other half to see different regions of India, expanding my culinary knowledge of India even more.
Each region of India has its own distinct language, culture and architecture, and most noticeable of all is how diverse the cuisine is. Being the forever inquisitive foodie, I picked up interesting recipes whenever I could coax the chef to share their secrets, and when that didn’t work, I would come home and reverse-engineer the recipes I loved. My Indian recipes are my gift to you: here is everything I learned as I traveled across vibrant India. I am introducing to you some of the best dishes of regional food and the remarkable diversity that India offers.
