My daughter Elissa and I took a trip to Thailand in February 2012. What a treat! Our family-favorite dishes include Thai classics such as Tom Kha Tofu, Panang Curry and Sticky Mango Rice. The trip had a profound impact on me.

My first encounter with Thai food was in 1989, when I came to America and my husband took me to a local Thai restaurant in India. But the smell and taste were so new to me that I almost left. However, my husband encouraged me to try a little of everything, and over the years I learned to love this fragrant cuisine.
