  • About

The Angorichina Cookery Book, 1963 (State Library of SA).

Australian soldiers fighting in Europe during the First World War put their lives at risk from more than bullets and shellfire. Living in close proximity, often in extremely cold and wet conditions, they also faced the increased likelihood of contracting tuberculosis. By 1917, medical authorities were warning that caring for all the men being invalided from the front with the potentially deadly infectious disease would be a significant challenge.
