Annie Sharman should be a household name. And yet, even in the state where she has influenced generations of cooks through one of Australia’s best-loved and longest-lived cookbooks, hardly anyone has heard of her.

Annie compiled the revered Green and Gold Cookery Book, which is still in print after more than 90 years, selling more than 500,000 copies. Officially designated a Heritage Icon in South Australia, it is so treasured that early editions are treated as family heirlooms.
