Apples

I suppose we must consider Adam and Eve as the first great PR people for apples. Never has a fruit been blamed for so much. I have to say, though, what a curious fruit to conjure up the fatal temptation that led to original sin and the expulsion from the Garden of Eden. I always feel that it probably wasn’t an apple at all, but something bitter like a quince or crab apple that dealt the fatal blow. Of course, why then would Eve have found it so delicious? I suppose it could be because it was forbidden.
