When Jennifer Last Shot

Jennifer: The last time I shot was a million years ago. I was shooting chukhar in Bengazi with the Lancers and a very volatile Italian consul who shot everybody in sight.

Clarissa: Forgive my ignorance, but what is chukhar?

Jennifer: A delicious bird–a bit like a big partridge. I used to roast it in a Baby Belling and serve it with bread sauce. I adore bread sauce.
