Tofu, seitan, tempeh, and textured vegetable protein (TVP) bring a boost of protein to any veggie burger. Even more so than beans, they are a blank canvas for you to take in any direction because they really acquire the flavors of the ingredients they are paired with. They lend themselves particularly to Asian-inspired burgers, but when used correctly they can enhance almost any patty. Follow a few guidelines and you’ll find them to be delicious base for all types of veggie burgers.
