My 5th birthday celebration at my Nana’s (maternal grandfather) home

With my siblings on a family holiday in Northern Pakistan

I am a Karachiite, and was born and raised in the city of lights. My family originally hails from Agra, India; the city of the Taj Mahal. Both my parents’ families migrated to Karachi after the partition in 1948. My Nana’s (Syed Haider Raza Rizvi) great grandfather’s (Mir Zamin Ali Rizvi) mausoleum still stands tall in Shahganj, Agra. I was fortunate to get an opportunity to visit his grave in 2014, and it was one of the most surreal experiences of my life.
