  • About

Mohsin and I against the gorgeous Doha skyline in Qatar — our home away from home

Ghalib was born in Agra but spent the majority of his life in Dilli (Delhi). Dilli, the capital of the Mughal empire, was an epicentre of art and culture in the subcontinent. Urdu as a language and Urdu poetry prospered during this time, and Ghalib was the God of both Urdu and poetry. Today Ghalib’s poetry is not bound by geography, and no one can claim ownership of Ghalib and his art. Ghalib is universal. Even partition couldn’t divide the miracle that we know as Ghalib. Despite some differences between India and Pakistan, when it comes to similarities, Ghalib’s name will be on top of the list.
