There’s nothing like a pizza party to bring the generations together. Make up the dough, get the sauce made, have a variety of toppings for everyone to choose from and let the party begin. Make double or triple the amount of dough and sauce and you can cook for a crowd. Make sure you have plenty of fine ground semolina so the pizzas don’t stick to the peel, a sharp knife to chop them up, and plenty of paper napkins.
Toppings you might like to prepare could include the following:
- thinly sliced red onions
- red and yellow (bell) peppers
- thinly sliced mushrooms
- sliced tomatoes
- flaked tuna
- drained anchovies
- drained capers
- pitted olives
- thinly sliced cured meats, such as pepperoni, chorizo, salami and prosciutto
- mozzarella, torn into pieces
- grated strong-flavoured cheeses, such as Parmesan and Cheddar
