So, What’s Next?
The simple answer is, I want to be able to serve our family’s recipes for as long as I can. I want to make sure the business is strong enough to become a century-old business. But who knows what will happen? As someone who has experienced quite a few unexpected turns in life, I know plans are set to be changed. For now, I will push on and strive to meticulously improve and cautiously expand the business for as long as I can, because Xi’an Famous Foods, to me, is the pride of my family, the culmination of all our years of work. It’s a place where Chinese people in America can experience a taste of home, be transported for a moment, and feel proud of the culture, the food, and the country of their roots. To be able to live up to that every single day in every single store is already enough of a challenge to me, so let’s just say that’s the only thing I plan to do.
