Showing an interest in pastry since childhood, Jihyun Son completed the Diplôme de Pâtisserie and Diplôme Avancé Culinaire at Le Cordon Bleu in New Zealand. She began her professional career at a local French pâtisserie before moving on to the QT Hotel & Resort’s Hippopotamus Restaurant in Wellington, working on high tea and dinner desserts.
