These pickles are sweeter than the kosher dill type, but the added onions go well with sandwiches.

Ingredients

  • 1 gallon thinly sliced cucumbers
  • 2 cups thinly sliced onions
  • ¼ cup<

Method

  1. Combine cucumbers, onions, and salt.
  2. Soak for 3 hours, then drain well.
  3. Heat sugar, vinegar, water, turmeric, and celery seed over medium heat until just boiling.
