  • About

The beefsteak’s special look, taste and texture make it suitable for only a few recipes. You can prepare as below and then combine it with other mushrooms if desired for a fritto misto, or eat by itself.

Ingredients

  • 800 g ( lb) beefsteak fungus
  • 3 medium eggs, beaten

Method

Clean the beefsteak, then slice, not too thinly.

Season the beaten egg mixture, and mix in the dill (if using). Dip the slices of beefsteak firstly in the flour, then the egg and lastly in the breadcrumbs. When they are well coated, shallow-fry in the hot oil until golden and crisp, a few minutes only. Serve hot with the lemon wedges.
