Pain de mie is the French equivalent of American white bread. I will tell you without hesitation that this is a far superior product to the American version. I know, I know, that’s not very patriotic to say, but this is one case where the truth must triumph.

Aside from that, this loaf can be baked in a 9 inch × 4 inch × 4 inch Pullman pan (if you want it to come out square in shape) or regular 1.5 pound loaf pan (if you like the top of the loaf rounded). Either way tastes gre
