Grandma’s Gingernut Biscuits

Sometimes when she is baking, Tamara Miller has the sense her grandmother is there, looking over her shoulder. Joy Walkom passed away fifteen years ago, but as a child Tamara spent considerable time with her in the kitchen, where Joy shared a lifetime of knowledge.

‘There are things that she taught me that pop up in the back of my head when I am cooking, and I can almost hear her saying them,’ Tamara says.
