Most show cooks can’t wait to rush into the pavilion on show day and find out whether they have won any prizes, but Toodyay cook Kerry Wandless has a completely different approach when she goes along to Western Australia’s oldest show. ‘I hang out,’ she says. ‘I look at everything else and I save it for last, and I hope I don’t see anyone who tells me the results. I never go straight there.’
