Dorothy Rideout reckons she has made thousands of scones over the years. They are favourites during mustering on the family grazing property at Thangool in central Queensland, along with her fruit cake, date loaf and biscuits. ‘They have a bit of a sweet tooth,’ she says of the family members and employees who take on the physically demanding job of bringing in the cattle on horseback.
