  • About

  • 2 cups (220 g) flour
  • 3 egg yolks
  • ½ cup (125 ml) sour cream
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) distilled alcohol, or distilled vinegar
  • 1 cup (250 ml) cooking oil

  1. On a wooden surface, sift the flour and mix with baking powder, egg yolks, sour cream, vanilla extract, and alcohol.
  2. Roll out into a very thin sheet of dough and cut out into 1 x 6 inch (2.5 x 15 cm) rectangles. Make a 2-inch (5 cm) slit lengthwise in the center of each strip of dough. Take one side of the dough and thread it once through the opening. Sprinkle all of the strips with flour.
  3. Heat the cooking oil until very hot in a deep skillet. Place each strip in the oil and fry, turning them quickly with a metal fork, until golden on all sides.
  4. Place the hot angel wings on a plate covered with paper towels to soak up excess oil.

When they have cooled, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
