It's a classic flavour combination for good reason, and this pear and chocolate cake took next to no time to make. I was looking for a chocolate-y way to use up some of my freezer stockpile of last season's pears, without going to the trouble of making a tart. The taste and texture here was quite similarly to a chocolate brownie (with added pears).Like a chocolate brownie, it was excellent served warm, with ice cream.
