About

These rich, chocolate-covered cheese confections, sold in the dairy department in Soviet grocery shops, used to be a favourite childhood treat. It took a little trial and error to come up with a homemade version, but it was worth it just to get the happy smile of recognition from my Russian friends and compliments from my American guests.
