Chocolate and Date Nuggets

To make these delicious nuggets, I found that different brands of cocoa powder gave different results, as did different varieties of dates.

The first time, I used Green & Black’s unsweetened cocoa powder and an Iranian soft date variety. The result was mediocre. I found the flavour quite bitter notwithstanding the sweetness of the dates. My guinea-pig friends and my husband, however, loved them. The next time I made them, I changed the proportion of chocolate to dates and nuts.
