Method

Heat the cream and butter together in a saucepan over a low heat until the butter has melted. Add the chocolate pieces and stir gently until melted and combined.
Add the vanilla, sugar, cardamom and salt and stir well over the heat, just until the sugar dissolves and combines, then remove from the heat.
Pour the mixture into a heatproof bowl and leave
