Tuile is the French word for tile. These thin wafer cookies were originally shaped to resemble roof tiles, similar to those that are visible on French rooftops. Now they are made into almost any shape and bent in many directions, garnishing plated desserts with character, but they are also delicate and tender on their own.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup (60 mL) unsalted butter
  • 2 egg whites, at room temperature
