Chocolate Caramel Fudge Layer

This incredibly chocolatey, rich and decadent layer is without a doubt our best-selling birthday cake. A quick glance at the ingredients will tell you it is a cake for a serious chocolate cake lover and definitely one to make for special occasions only! For all its grandeur (and it is pretty grand), it’s really easy to make. We use our own caramel but a tin of the shop-bought stuff tastes just as good and you can skip it completely if you just fancy chocolate cake.
