Once every winter I make a compote from a supermarket box of mixed dried fruit, and this quick bread also uses the mixture to make an interesting, not-too-sweet breakfast bread.
Ingredients
One11- or 12-ouncepackagemixed dried fruit, coarsely chopped by hand or in the food processor
Set a rack at the middle level of the oven and preheat to 375 degrees.
Place the chopped dried fruit in a saucepan. Cover with water and bring to a simmer. Drain and spread out on paper towels to soak up the excess moisture.
