Often called “dinner rolls” and even “egg rolls,” these tender, slightly sweet rolls are a perfect accompaniment to a light meal.

Though individual rolls such as these were a common feature of home baking in the past, they are not much used anymore, which is a pity. They only require a few minutes’ more work than making a whole loaf of bread, and they always appear festive and appetizing.
