Crumpets

Typically British, crumpets have become popular in the Pacific Northwest, especially Seattle—could it be the similarity in annual rainfall? Though crumpets are easy to make, you will need a set of four 4-inch rings and a griddle for cooking them. The rings are inexpensive and available at kitchenware stores. Or you can save some 4-inch cans—tuna cans, for instance. Remove both the top and bottom of the cans to use them as crumpet rings.
