Peeling and dicing the apples is the only time-consuming aspect of this pie—the rest is a breeze. And you can bake the pie early in the day, or even the night before, and warm it up before serving, to eliminate any last-minute fuss.

  1. Roll the prepared dough out and line the pan. Chill the crust while preparing the topping and filling.
  2. To make the topping, stir the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl; add the butter and stir in evenly. Set the mixture aside for 5 minutes, then use your fingertips to break the mixture into ¼- to ½-inch crumbs. Set aside.</
