If you have a source for wild blackberries in midsummer, be sure to make this top-crust-only pie, which I think is the best possible use for the berries. If you have to buy the berries, the pie will not only be expensive, but the berries will probably not be ripe (commercially grown ones rarely are) and the pie may be very sharp tasting.
