Another simple puff pastry is made richer and fancier by nuts and cinnamon sugar encrusting the dough. Though you may use any nuts, I find this combination of almonds and hazelnuts delicate and flavorful.

  1. Place the dough on a floured surface, flour the dough, and roll it out into a 12-inch square. Paint the surface of the dough with the egg wash.
  2. In a bowl, combine the sugar, cinnamon, and nuts and spread them evenly over one half of the dough in a 6 x 12-inch rectangle
