Sour Cherry Ice Cream Bombe

It is amazing the decorative patterns you can achieve in this dessert with a humble Swiss roll (or jelly roll as it is known in America). When you cut slices of this bomb the outer layer has pretty stripes encasing the ice cream and frozen cherries. I love to serve this dessert with a warm chocolate sauce on the side to pour over the top. It melts the ice cream and frozen cherry compote a little, making this one wickedly indulgent cake.
