These soft finger-shaped buns were iced with pink, vanilla or chocolate icing in the tea shop. On special occasions, Dad made big orders of the Swiss buns for Rosslyn House, a finishing school based in the nearby village of Oatlands. On delivery days, I sat squashed in the boot of our green Hillman Hunter beside the trays of buns and other pastries.
