Dad made a variety of petit fours, sold in gold boxes tied with red ribbon. His trademark petit fours were almond fancies decorated with a sliced almond, glacé cherry or angelica, for which I give the recipe here. He also made oval-shaped chocolate Dutch macaroons, chocolate hollandaise and stuffed dates. These were all sold by weight using old-fashioned scales and made ideal gifts.
