Shortbread

Shortbread is the classic afternoon biscuit, served with a pot of tea. The tea shop attracted elderly folk who spent afternoons putting the world to rights while sipping tea and devouring biscuits and cakes. The shortbread Dad made was thick, with a crinkle-cut edge and sprinkled with sugar. People rarely dunked biscuits in their tea in Peter’s but this is the perfect dunking biscuit.
