One of my oldest and dearest friends, Sandy Leonard, who lives in Watertown, Massachusetts, loves to cook and bake.

He got this recipe from his friend Larissa Erokhin, who grew up in Moscow and now also lives in Massachusetts. It’s a very simple pie with a filling of gently cooked cabbage and hard-cooked eggs, just the thing for a winter supper. The recipe below uses a yeast-risen dough as the crust, but you may also substitute the dough from the
