I just love striped bass. When I was growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, stripers were the ultimate catch. Little did I realize how foreign they were to the waters of the East Coast. Introduced by intrepid fishing enthusiasts, the striped bass have flourished. The version in the Chesapeake are called “rock fish”; they are smaller than the monsters my friends catch out near Montauk, in Long Island.
