• 40 g (1½ oz) rock sugar
• 60 ml (2 fl oz/¼ cup) soy sauce
• 40 ml (1¼ fl oz) oyster sauce

Place the ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Cool and set aside.
