Ingredients

  • 200 g (7 oz) caster (superfine) sugar
  • 6 ripe but firm freestone (slipstone) peaches

Method

Place the sugar in a saucepan with 400 ml (14 fl oz) water and bring to the boil. Add the peaches, then remove from the heat and cool in the liquid. Remove the peaches from the liquid, peel and quarter. Discard the liquid. Set aside.
