Like mini-Danish but in a crisp cookie, these are pastry-shop delicious. My testers, all across the board (and the country, in fact) voted these fantastic. You can tell a winner when everyone begs to test that recipe! The dough handles like a dream.
In a mixer bowl, cream the sugar with the butter and cream cheese. Blend in vanilla extract, salt and flour. Stir to make a soft dough, adding a little extra flour as necessary if dough is too sticky. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured board and pat into a flattened disc. Wrap in plastic and chill for 30-60 minutes or overnight.
